Itinerary

Day 01 : Leh

You can arrive at leh by flight or by road. There are regular services from Jammu, Delhi, Srinagar, and Chandigarh. There are flight services from Shimla as well taking hardly 40 minutes.


Day 02 : Leh (Visit Shey + Thikse + Hemis Monasteries)

On day 2, you can visit to some of the well renowned monasteries of ladakh –shey, thikse and Hemis monasteries.

Shey : this beautiful monastery was built by king Deldon Namgyal in the memory of his father Singay Namgyal. Inside the monastery there is a huge statue of Buddha Shalyamuni -the second largest statue of Buddha in Ladakh. The statue is made up of copper sheets and decorated with gold.

Thicksey monastery: it is an outstanding example of Ladakhi architecture   located at a distance of 18 km from Leh.

Hemis Monastery: Hemis gompa is established in 1620 by Lama Tagstang Raspa and built by Palden Sara under the patronage of King Singe Namgyal. It is located at about 50 km away from the Leh city.


Day 03 : In Leh (Visit Stok Palace + Leh Palace + Shanti Stupa & Leh Market)-

If you have a thrist  to know about the ancient culture of ladakhis then you can start your day  by visiting Stok Palace as it has excellent collection of Royal crowns, precious heirlooms, copper coins, prayer instruments and materials, precious stones and jewels .In the afternoon you can visit the markets of leh to purchase traditional dress,  colourful jewelry of coral and turquoise and many other items which you want to take as a memory of Ladakh.

Day 4 : Leh-Khardungla –Leh

Next morning , you can make a plan to visit the Khardungla pass- the highest motorable pass in the world(5600 m) .


Day 05 : Leh (Excursion Alchi - 67 Kms)-

Now from leh the next site to visit is Alchi Monastery-

which is about 67 km away from Leh. It is the oldest monastery of  ladakh. It has two main temples -Alchi Du-khang and the Sum-tsek. Besides this it has some other smaller structures including  The Temple of Manjushri, LotsawaLha-khang, Lha-khang Soma and 3 Ka-ka-ni (entrance) chortens.

The main credit  for constructing it goes to the great translator RinchenZangpo (958-1055)

Day 06 : Drive to Lamayuru & back to Leh-

Take a morning ride to the moon valley.  Sightseeing the Lamayuru Monastery and then return back to leh .Just before the town visit the Spituk Monastery.


Day 07 : Leh - Delhi

Transfer in time to the airport to connect onwards destination flight.
